Meet Macy Hill, our Pre-Arrival/Housing Associate in Bloomington!
1. Tell us a little about yourself.
I am a 2021 graduate from Malone University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Arts and Global and International Studies. I love to travel, go hiking, and I have 2 cats, a turtle, and a leopard gecko!
2. What is your role at Exodus?
I am the Pre-Arrival/ Housing Associate with the Bloomington office! I help with finding housing for our clients, and keeping track of arrival and flight information of clients before they come to Bloomington.
3.How did you hear about Exodus and why did you want to get involved?
When I was in college, I was able to join a cultural experience trip to Arizona and Mexico to our southern border. There I learned the incredible journey that migrants experience trying to survive in a new country, and it instantly sparked my passion for this work. I then interned with Exodus my senior year and felt that it was a community of people who were devoted to working together and providing the most inclusive care for clients who have the most resilience and courage I have ever seen in my life. I knew that I wanted to be a part of this work, and I’m so grateful to be with Exodus!
4. What language(s) do you speak?
I am learning Spanish and Haitian Creole!
