Empowering Our Clients’ Lives

Exodus provides a wide-range of services and programs to meet the needs of refugee newcomers. We arrange for housing, food and clothing, and case management, as well as provide education, employment training, health services, and more. Our primary goal is to provide our clients with the tools and information they need to be successful in their new lives. Eligibility for services ranges from 90 days to up 5 years after arrival in the U.S.

Reception & Placement
During this 90-day period, an Exodus case manager works with newly arrived clients to meet basic needs for housing, food, and clothing, as well as coordinates other case management services, such as social security appointments, health screenings, school enrollments, and more.

Employment
Employment services are available to all refugees, asylees, certified victims of human trafficking, and Cuban parolees in Indiana during their first five years of arrival or status.

Our Language, Cultural Orientation and Readiness for Employment (LCORE) classes are designed to teach practical English language skills as well as the skills necessary to facilitate cultural transition in the U.S.

Clients enrolled in Match Grant receive cash assistance and housing benefits for up to 5 months.

Given the diverse backgrounds and beliefs of refugees, our mental wellness service aims to respond to the mental health concerns of refugees in a way that is linguistically appropriate and culturally sensitive.

Exodus provides services tailored to the unique needs of female refugees. The Women’s Program is targeted at increasing refugee women’s and girls’ ability to gain confidence, promote economic self-sufficiency, education and empowerment.

Additional Programs

Direct Assistance
Direct assistance assists refugees who are struggling to meet essential expenses while supporting their families, such as rent, utilities, food, clothing, transportation, medical expenses, etc. These funds are used to reduce additional barriers to those seeking employment or for those who need assistance in their early months of employment.
Refugee Legal Services
Exodus is BIA accredited and provides limited status adjustment and citizenship services as well as referrals.
